HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. — An Indianapolis man will spend more than seven decades in prison for causing a crash that killed two children while he was fleeing from police.
At a sentencing hearing in Hendricks County on Feb. 9, a judge handed 25-year-old S’Doni Pettis a combined sentence of 74 years. Prosecutors asked for the maximum sentence of 77-and-a-half years.
Pettis pleaded guilty in January to three counts of resisting law enforcement, two counts of causing catastrophic injury when operating a motor vehicle, one count of causing death when operating a motor vehicle, one count of conversion and one count of auto theft.
