Former Hamilton County town official arrested for alleged role in 1992 murder of Tony Bledsoe

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. — Indiana State Police and the Hamilton County prosecutor held a news conference Thursday afternoon to announce new developments in the 1992 murder of Tony Bledsoe.

According to online records, Steven Andrew Emmert — who ISP Sgt. John Perrine identified as Andy Emmert — was arrested Thursday, Feb. 12 at his home in Atlanta, Indiana, and is being held at the Hamilton County Jail on a murder charge, with the offense date listed as March 16, 1992. The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office has not filed a formal charge at this time.

On Wednesday, Feb. 11, a plea agreement was filed in which 54-year-old Thomas Anderson Jr., of Arcadia, would plead guilty to murder. The plea agreement still has to be accepted by all parties…
