As firefighters doused the flames from a black Honda Civic on the city’s north side, they didn’t know it was the start of a mystery that would leave a man’s family and friends searching for answers.
Inside the car set aflame sometime before 4:45 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, was Michael Lockridge, a 56-year-old Indianapolis man. He was pronounced dead at the scene hours later. The Marion County Coroner would rule his cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the head.
