Memorial signs honor deputies killed in line of duty
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two ceremonies were held last week for new memorial signs to honor two Marion County line-of-duty deaths, a Facebook post from North District IMPD said Monday.
On Monday, Feb. 9, a ceremony was held at 5900 E. 82nd Street for Deputy Gerald Morris, who was shot and killed while responding to a robbery on Jan. 2, 1981.
On Friday, Feb. 13, at the intersection of 26th Street and Capital Avenue, a second memorial sign was displayed to honor Indiana Police Department Officer David S. Richards who was fatally shot on July 2, 1879, while searching for a gang of horse thieves…
