INDIANAPOLIS — A vehicle pursuit connected to a firearms investigation led to the temporary closure of the I-465 Eastbound entrance ramp from S. East Street on the south side on Tuesday afternoon.
IMPD’s Southeast District’s Violence Reduction Team attempted to conduct a traffic stop shortly after 3 p.m. in the area of Pine Street and E. Southport Road as part of a firearms investigation. During the traffic stop, IMPD said the suspects fled from officers, prompting a vehicle pursuit.
The pursuit eventually ended near the I-465 eastbound entrance ramp and S. East Street after police successfully deployed a precision immobilization technique. INDOT’s Traffic Management Center confirmed the ramp closure around 3:18 p.m. until it reopened around an hour later.
The occupants of the suspect vehicle, identified as two men and a juvenile male, were placed under arrest. Officers then searched the vehicle, where they seized four firearms, including a handgun equipped with a machine gun conversion device…
