BEECH GROVE, Ind. — The suspect in the fatal shooting of Beech Grove Police Department Officer Brian Elliott has been formally charged with murder.
Kenneth Johnson, 47, was formally charged Friday, Feb. 20 with the following counts, according to online court records:
- Murder
- Attempted murder
- Criminal confinement while armed with a deadly weapon
- Domestic battery by means of a deadly weapon
- Battery by means of a deadly weapon
- Pointing a firearm at another
Johnson had his initial hearing Friday morning, with the prosecutor filing the request for life in prison without the possibility of parole, if convicted.
