A 16-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital in critical condition last night after gunfire erupted at the Estates at Crystal Bay apartment complex on Indianapolis’ north side. Police say the shooting unfolded shortly after 8:35 p.m. in the 2200 block of Biscay Square, following what investigators described as a disturbance involving a group of people. Detectives believe the attack was targeted. No suspect was immediately identified, and the investigation remains active.
According to WISH-TV, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Capt. Richard Ray said detectives were treating the case as a targeted shooting and had not identified a suspect as of early Tuesday. The station reports that aggravated assault detectives are leading the probe and that officers interviewed witnesses at the scene late into the night.
Police ask for video and witnesses
Capt. Richard Ray told WISH-TV that “no suspect was immediately known” and urged anyone who recorded the disturbance or the shooting to share that video with investigators. Police say they are already reviewing cellphone and doorbell footage and are asking residents to contact aggravated assault detectives with any tips that might help identify who opened fire.
