KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Multiple law enforcement agencies are warning the public about a scam that involves fake court documents being sent to people in the Wabash Valley.
According to the Knox County and Vermillion County Sheriff’s Offices, these so-called court documents are being text messaged to people in the Wabash Valley.
“Please remember that law enforcement or the courts will NEVER call you or text you like this. All court paperwork is always delivered by sheriff service or regular mail. Never by text message,” said the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
