Mitthoefer murders suspect’s lawyers say he isn’t competent to stand trial for the 4th time

INDIANAPOLIS — Lawyers for the man charged in the Mitthoefer Murders are once again saying he is not competent to stand trial.

A judge ordered what will be the fourth competency evaluation for David Hiner, who is accused of murdering 58-year-old Shannon Lassere and 52-year-old Marianne Weis.

Both women were killed within a single week. Their bodies were dumped within a few hundred feet of each other. Both had been stabbed to death. They had both been seen within walking distance of Hiner’s apartment…
