Authorities accused of fabricating testimony

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WISH) – Falana McLeod believes the man who killed her son should still be in prison.

During a Sept. 30 hearing, McLeod tearfully spoke against a deal offered by St. Joseph County Prosecutor Ken Cotter. The deal would allow Shyheem Jones to plead down his murder conviction to a lesser battery charge.

“He knew what he was going to do that day. In school, he told his schoolmates that he was going to kill Cornell,” McLeod said in court. “I don’t understand.”…
