Broad Ripple Nightclub Turns Crime Scene As Jury Convicts Landsharks Shooter

A Friday night verdict in Indianapolis has closed a grim chapter for Broad Ripple’s nightlife. Yesterday, a jury convicted 27-year-old Nicholas Fulk of murder and multiple counts of battery in the shooting inside Landsharks nightclub that left one man dead and five others wounded. The decision capped a three-day trial that pulled survivors, witnesses and grieving family members back into a case that shook one of the city’s busiest entertainment strips.

According to WISH-TV, jurors returned guilty verdicts on the murder charge and several battery counts after deliberating at the close of testimony. Court documents and local reporting laid out the timeline leading up to the gunfire and the investigation that followed.

The Shooting And Victims

The violence broke out in the early hours of March 16, 2024, inside Landsharks on Broad Ripple Avenue, according to local coverage. The Marion County Coroner identified the man killed as Timothy Brown Jr., and five other patrons were hospitalized with gunshot wounds, as reported by WRTV.

Evidence Prosecutors Presented

Prosecutors told jurors that court filings and surveillance video suggested the shooting followed a fight between two women, and that the gunman fired as he moved toward the door. The Associated Press reported that investigators relied on security camera footage, automatic license-plate readers and other video sources to identify and track down the suspect after the shooting.

Local Fallout And Safety Questions

The incident quickly reignited long-running worries about safety in Broad Ripple. Business and neighborhood leaders said the shooting brought fresh scrutiny to how the nightlife district is managed, and state regulators temporarily closed Landsharks after the attack. WIBC reported that the Broad Ripple Village Association called the violence “reprehensible” and urged continued work with city officials on stronger safety measures.

Sentencing has not yet been announced. Court officials will set a date for Fulk to return to court, local reporting said, and prosecutors told WISH-TV they plan to outline their sentencing recommendations once the hearing is scheduled…
