Northview Middle School in the Metropolitan School District of Washington Township was awarded the $50,000 National Institute for Excellence in Teaching Founder’s Award April 1 during the NIET conference in New Orleans.
The school earlier received $10,000 when it was picked as one of five finalists for the annual award, created by Lowell Milken in 2008. According to a news release, the Founder’s Award honors one school in the United States each year for implementation of NIET’s principles.
“We are pleased to present Northview Middle School with the 2026 NIET Founder’s Award,” Milken stated. “Principal Thomas Hakim, Superintendent Dr. Sean Taylor, staff and students have demonstrated outstanding academic gains by strengthening instruction and building a nurturing environment for all.”…
