More than 1,300 out-of-service orders issued by Indiana commercial vehicle troopers in April

Indiana State Police (ISP) sidelined hundreds of commercial trucks and truck drivers for safety violations last month.

ISP recently shared the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division’s (CVED) statistics for April 2026, showing that a total of 1,334 out-of-service orders were issued for various driver and vehicle violations statewide.

From April 1 — 30, ISP CVED completed the following enforcement activities:

  • Total CMV Inspections Completed – 5,105
  • Total Out-Of-Service Drivers – 585
  • Total Out-Of-Service Vehicles – 749
  • Total Number of Oversize Violations – 33
  • Total Number of Overweight Violations – 540
