Morrissey Treated for ‘Physical Exhaustion’ After Canceling Shows

Morrissey canceled two concerts in California this weekend while he is ‘receiving medical supervision’ in Zurich

Morrissey is being treated for “physical exhaustion” after canceling two scheduled tour dates in California this weekend.

“Morrissey is receiving medical supervision for physical exhaustion,” reads a statement on the musician’s official Instagram page attributed to tour manager Donnie Knutson. “He has been ordered to rest and will remain in Zurich.”

The former Smiths frontman , 64, was slated to perform the entirety of his 2004 album You Are the Quarry in two 20th anniversary shows on Friday and Saturday as part of his ongoing 40 Years of Morrissey tour.

Both venues, the Honda Centre in Anaheim and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, said that the concerts had been canceled due to “unforeseen circumstances.” Tickets will be refunded automatically.

His upcoming gigs in Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Brazil next month also appear to be canceled. No rescheduled dates have been announced.
