ONTARIO, Calif., Jan. 30 (KNN) — A solo vehicle slammed into a tree off the 15 Freeway early Monday morning leaving the driver and passenger injured.

California Highway Patrol officers with the Rancho Cucamonga Office and Ontario Fire Department personnel responded to a traffic collision just before 2 a.m. Tuesday, with one person trapped southbound on the 15 Freeway at Jurupa Street in the city of Ontario.

Once CHP officers and firefighters arrived on scene, they located a white vehicle that had crashed off the freeway and into a palm tree temporarily trapping the passenger.

Both the driver and passenger were transported to a local hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

It is currently unknown if speed or alcohol was a factor in the crash.

CHP had only located the single vehicle that had crashed into the tree. There did not appear to be another vehicle involved in the collision at this time..
