Video shows California street racer slam into crowd, pin people under Dodge Charger

Police in Southern California are investigating an early Halloween morning illegal street racing incident in which a car slammed into a crowd and ran over two people.

Anaheim Police Department Sgt. Matt Sutter said the crash involved the driver of a black Dodge Charger and two pedestrians and took place about 2 a.m. Thursday at East Orangewood Avenue and State College Boulevard.

The city of Anaheim is in Orange County just outside Los Angeles and the incident took place on the south side of Angel Stadium , which is home to the Los Angeles Major League Baseball team.

Sutter said people involved in street racing took over the intersection and, during the ruckus, the Charger struck two 19-year-old pedestrians, one from Orange County and one from Lancaster , a city in northern Los Angeles County about 100 miles northwest of the crash scene.

The driver, police reported, then fled the scene on foot.
