Thousands Evacuate in Southern California as Fire Spreads

(TNS) – A rapidly spreading fire, fueled by strong, dry Santa Ana winds, has forced thousands of people from their homes in Southern California. The fire department in Ventura County, north-west of Los Angeles, labelled the blaze “very dangerous.” Residents should heed evacuation orders, said Sheriff Jim Fryhoff at a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.
