Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man found with a gunshot wound along the Los Angeles River in Paramount Monday morning.
Deputies were sent to the area near Somerset Boulevard and the 710 Freeway after receiving a call of a man down in the riverbed around 4 a.m.
An unidentified Hispanic man was pronounced dead at the scene after being found with at least one gunshot wound, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department spokesperson confirmed.
Authorities conducted a search for the suspect and Sky5 was over the scene shortly before 7 a.m. as a person was handcuffed and detained.
It was unclear if the detained person was a suspect in the shooting or possibly connected to the investigation in another way.
No information regarding a motive for the shooting was announced.
