SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Light rain is possible in San Diego County to kick off the week as a trough of low pressure digs south from central California.
The low pressure system, which is responsible for the first significant snowfall of the season in the northern part of the Golden State, could bring a few isolated showers in the coast, valleys and mountains Monday night into Tuesday.
These sprinkles are anticipated to boast unimpressive accumulations of a couple hundredths of an inch.
An increase in onshore flow Monday is also anticipated to pull in low-laying clouds across the county and propel gusty westerly winds in the mountains and deserts. These winds are forecast to pick up around 9 p.m. or 10 p.m.
On the back side of the storm for Tuesday, winds will shift back to offshore, bringing back windy and dry conditions. These Santa Ana winds will be much weaker than last week’s event, although it will still elevate fire danger around the region.
Tuesday daytime highs will top out in the mid to upper 60s for the beaches and valleys, upper 50s for the mountains and mid-70s for the deserts.
