Two people were arrested after they forged press passes to access prohibited areas in the wake of the Palisades Fire, according to the Los Angeles Times .
The two “suspicious individuals” were not identified, but the California Highway Patrol said they entered an evacuation zone using what appeared to be Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department press passes.
Their “coming and going” from restricted zones “raised suspicion,” CHP officials said, prompting further inquiries into their credentials.

“After confirming with the Sheriff’s Department that the press passes were fake, CHP officers arrested the people attempting to use them,” the Times reports. “Both suspects were taken to the Sheriff’s Department’s Lost Hills station for booking, and authorities said a search of their belongings revealed more fraudulent press passes.”…
