SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. — A fire broke out in the Poway area early Saturday evening in a canyon behind Springhurst Drive, which is near Creekside Elementary School.
The flames quickly spread to three to four acres and started burning uphill toward homes at a slow to moderate rate of speed.
