LONG BEACH, California — A 29-year-old Long Beach man faces charges for a series of violent crimes, including rape and a hate crime, occurring from April to July 2025, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Alvin Marbra, of Long Beach, is accused of attacking a woman in Santa Monica, raping a woman in Long Beach, and committing a hate crime against a man in Long Beach.
Marbra is charged with two forcible sex crimes and one hate crime in case 25LBCF01195. On April 4, he allegedly assaulted a 52-year-old woman in Santa Monica, facing a felony count of assault with intent to commit forcible rape, with a special allegation of inflicting great bodily injury. On June 30, Marbra allegedly attacked a 26-year-old man in Long Beach, charged with felony battery as a hate crime. On July 1, he allegedly raped a 61-year-old woman in Long Beach, charged with forcible rape, kidnapping, and inflicting great bodily injury.
District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman stated, “The details of this series of attacks are incredibly disturbing. My office will pursue every legal avenue to hold the perpetrator fully accountable for these appalling acts.” Marbra, previously convicted of aggravated assault in Florida in 2021, appeared in court on July 3, with bail set at $1.275 million.
