The city of Irvine has been named one of the first 33 communities in the state to earn the new Clean California Community designation from Caltrans, the state agency responsible for highway maintenance and transportation infrastructure. The recognition honors cities and organizations that demonstrate an ongoing commitment to reducing litter, improving public spaces and fostering community pride.
As a designated community, Irvine will receive official highway signage, statewide recognition and access to educational materials and cleanup resources through the Clean California initiative.
