California High-Speed Rail Authority opens comments for proposed 30-mile rail segment’s environmental statement

The California High-Speed Rail Authority opened the comment period on Friday for the Draft Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Impact Statement for the proposed 30-mile rail segment between Los Angeles and Anaheim in Southern California. The comment period runs through Feb. 3.

The project section would be the southernmost link of the first phase of the statewide high-speed rail system connecting Los Angeles Union Station to the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center. It would use the Los Angeles to Anaheim rail corridor. The document evaluates no project alternative and two build alternatives as well as an option for one intermediate high-speed rail station.
