University High School placed fourth in the Irvine Unified School District food drive, bringing in 1,004 donations for Second Harvest Food Bank.
Six schools participated in the food drive, and Woodbridge High School won the competition with 1,658 donations. UHS students said they cared more about giving back than winning the district-wide food drive.
“We collected 1,004 donations, which is about the average number of donations among all the schools,” Service Project Commissioner Ansh Balasubramanian said. “I think we did great as a school, considering we hosted the drive this year.”…
