Owner, firefighter work together to help treat dog after Orange County fire

A structure fire that erupted overnight in Orange County left a family’s garage destroyed and their dog suffering from smoke-inhalation injuries — injuries a firefighter and the pet’s owner worked side-by-side to treat in a tender moment captured on video.

The fire was first reported just before 10 p.m. in the 3900 block of Myra Avenue in Los Alamitos, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.

Details are limited, but OCFA said that firefighters soon arrived at the home to find heavy smoke coming out of the garage. Crews went to work quickly and managed to prevent the flames from spreading to the main residence…
