A Silver Alert for an 83-year-old man who was last seen in Torrance was in effect Friday in Los Angeles and Orange counties.
Jerry Toma was last seen at approximately 3 p.m. Thursday near Cricklewood and Madison streets, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Torrance Police Department.
Toma is white, 6 feet, 1 inch tall, weighs 240 pounds, is bald and has blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt, a blue vest, blue pants and blue shoes. Authorities say Toma is believed to be traveling in a 2008 silver Hyundai Elantra with a California license plate 6DGP142…
