A host of Orange County animal shelters are working together this Valentine’s Day weekend, encouraging residents to adopt a dog or cat.
Participating shelters include Coastal Animal Services Authority (San Clemente), Irvine Animal Care Center, Laguna Beach Animal Shelter, Mission Viejo Animal Services, Newport Beach Animal Services and Orange County Animal Care.

Gimli has been at OC Animal Care for about three weeks after spending some time outside the shelter with a foster family. Staff descriptions say he’s a shy, gentle, and calm pet who’s easy to handle.
Descriptions also say that he enjoys taking slow walks and exploring his surroundings. Additionally, he’s already potty trained and knows how to “sit” on command…
