Garden Grove Unified School District’s Board of Education proudly congratulates Superintendent Dr. Gabriela Mafi on being named the 2026 Woman of the Year for California’s 70th Assembly District by Assemblyman Tri Ta.
Dr. Mafi is serving her 13th year as superintendent of GGUSD, the third largest school district in Orange County, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year and is widely recognized for its strong record of academic achievement and student success.
“When I think of a woman making a lasting difference in our community, Dr. Mafi is the first person who comes to mind,” said Assemblyman Ta. “Her leadership has elevated academic achievement across Garden Grove Unified and strengthened opportunities for thousands of students and families.
