On Wednesday, an LAPD officer was taken into custody on suspicion of insurance fraud after he was accused of collecting disability benefits while exaggerating an on-duty injury.
The officer, Christopher Brandon Carnahan (43) of Norwalk, had reportedly wounded his elbow while on duty on May 23, 2023. Subsequently, Carnahan was granted workers’ compensation while in recovery for this job-related injury and was placed on Temporary Totally Disabled (TTD) status.
