With North Texas experiencing its first 100-degree day of the summer, The Salvation Army of North Texas has activated a region-wide heat relief response aimed at helping vulnerable residents stay safe during the dangerous temperatures.
Volunteers with The Salvation Army and Reliant gathered Wednesday morning at the Carr P. Collins Social Service Center in Dallas to distribute box fans, bottled water, and other supplies to residents during the organization’s regular summer food distribution event.
