This Texas metro is No. 1 for San Antonio-area moves across generations

Texas has a lot to offer people looking for their next place to live, but it’s not for everyone. A mid-2026 migration report shows which areas drew the most attention from those in the San Antonio-New Braunfels metropolitan area, so much so that they opted to move.

A report from the moving and storage company U-Haul crowns Dallas as the No. 1 destination for net-gain metros, meaning locals moved there more than any other place throughout the analysis period, July 2025 to June 2026. The data is based on the company’s one-way transactions and the generational group of its customers.
