An electrical short caused a fire at the State Fair of Texas on Tuesday morning, officials said.
Dallas-Fire Rescue units responded to the Midway at the fairgrounds about 7:10 a.m., DFR spokesperson Jason Evans said in a news release. When they arrived, they could see a large column of smoke rising from the area.
The blaze, which was coming from a balloon pop gaming stand, was declared out before 7:30 a.m. The stand received significant damage, but it was closed at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported…
