A coyote believed to be responsible for biting three children at an Arlington park this week was captured and will be humanely euthanized, city officials say.
The coyote is believed to be behind the attacks at Parkway Central Park, located north of Lamar Boulevard between Cooper and Collins streets.
The city said the coyote would be euthanized and transported to the Texas Department of Health and Human Services for rabies testing.
Because of the recent attacks, an animal control office and a police officer were positioned near the Jones Academy of Fine Arts and Dual Languague when they spotted the coyote, officials said.
The officers reported that the coyote charged them, and they were able to capture it.
The city said Parkway Central Park will remain closed until further notice, as it works with animal and health authorities to determine next steps.
