Jury begins deliberations in day 4 of trial for man accused of killing Starrville pastor

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) – A jury began deliberations Thursday morning in the case of a man accused of killing a Smith County pastor. Mytrez Deunte Woolen, 25, of Arlington, is charged with capital murder in the January 2021 shooting death of Starrville Methodist Church pastor Mark McWilliams. The state is asking the jury to find Woolen guilty of capital murder, saying Woolen was burglarizing the church. Under Texas law, a capital murder is committed during another felony.
