The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) now has an official title game matchup scheduled: SMU vs. Clemson.
Despite the strong season by the Miami Hurricanes, a loss to Syracuse in Week 14 has them on the outside looking in.
Clemson locked up a spot in Week 14 despite losing to South Carolina in a rivalry game, and SMU capped off a strong season with an easy win over Cal.
Now, the two teams face each other on Saturday, December 7, in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The winner goes to the College Football Playoff and the loser holds its breath to hopefully land an at-large bid.
On Sunday, ESPN gave its updated Football Power Index (FPI) ratings, and it hinted at a winner of the ACC title game.

The ESPN FPI has SMU with a 54% chance to win the conference and gives Clemson a 46% chance.
Clemson enters with a 9-3 record, including a loss to South Carolina at home in Week 14. The other two losses for Clemson came in Week 1 against Georgia in a 34-3 blowout and then a loss to Louisville at the start of November.
