Duncanville police search for suspects in Sunday night shooting

Authorities are searching for two suspects involved in a shooting that injured a man at a traffic light Sunday night in Duncanville.

Officers responded to reports of gunshots in the 100 block of E. Highway 67 but found no evidence at the scene, Duncanville police said. Shortly after, officers were dispatched to a home in DeSoto, where they discovered a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said the victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was transported to Methodist Dallas Medical Center. He told police that two men approached his car from behind while he was stopped at the traffic light. One suspect, standing on the passenger side, pulled a gun and shot him in the arm. As the victim drove away, the suspects reportedly fired several additional shots.

The suspects were last seen fleeing northbound toward South Main Street. Both are described as young, slender Black males. One was wearing black pants, a white hoodie, and a blue surgical mask.

Police have not yet identified a motive for the shooting and are urging drivers to remain vigilant, especially while stopped at intersections.
