Another stretch of cold weather is forecast to hit North Texas late this weekend. Friday afternoon, the National Weather Service expected a cold front to arrive Saturday bringing wind gusts out of the north up to 20 miles an hour and wind chills dropping into the teens Saturday night; lows in the 20s are expected through Wednesday night.
“Really with cold weather, it’s the cumulative effect on people physically,” says Juliana Williams, chief advancement officer at the non-profit, OurCalling. “Cold weather is dangerous and can cause health complications and even death, but what we see is it’s that additive effect of multiple cold weather stints that really start to affect people.”
Because this will be the second stretch of cold weather this month, Williams says some who tried to stay at their camps last time might be more likely to seek out shelter this time…
