The Arlington ISD school board approved the 2025-26 academic year calendar at a Jan. 16 meeting.
The calendar includes 33 days of student holiday breaks during the regular school year — five more than in 2024-25. The increase comes from adding five days devoted to teacher training, which happen over the year on weekdays.
Texas law requires school districts to teach a minimum of 75,600 minutes annually to receive funding, and it mandates districts’ academic years start no earlier than the fourth Monday of August, with few exceptions…
