DALLAS — After years of stalled plans to redevelop the former Valley View Mall site, the entire 110-acre site is for sale. City officials are also finally hoping to move forward on long-awaited plans to build a park just across Montfort Drive from the former mall.
Scott Beck, whose Beck Ventures owns most of the 110-acre former mall site in a joint venture with Life Time Inc. Seritage Growth Properties, which was created during the Sears bankruptcy, also owns a portion of the site.
“The three of us really made a combined decision a few months ago because Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL)…brought us some opportunities of groups that were interested in the site,” Beck said of the sale. “As opposed to trying to figure it out separately, we decided as a whole to band together to have those discussions and turn it into a formalized process.”…
