We know that immigration is a very hot topic in Texas and along the U.S. Mexico border right now. So, you might not be shocked to find out that El Paso leads the nation currently with the highest number of migrant encounters.
According to KXAN, in February approximately 25% off all illegal individuals crossing into the U.S. did so along a stretch of the border from Texas to the New Mexico-Arizona state line.
Let’s Break Down the Immigrations Numbers in El Paso
There was a total of 2,110 migrants who were apprehended in the El Paso Sector within the month of February. As we all know there were 28 days in February, which breaks down to about 75 apprehensions daily.
Previously, San Diego was leading the country with the most migrant encounters, but in February there were only 1,650 apprehensions compared to the over 2,100 in El Paso.
