Dallas, Texas – As April marks Fair Housing Month, the City of Dallas is spotlighting the importance of equitable access to housing by commemorating the 1968 Fair Housing Act, a pivotal law that outlawed discrimination in housing based on race, color, national origin, religion, familial status, or disability. To honor this, the Office of Equity and Inclusion—Fair Housing Division has launched a series of events to spread awareness and engage the community.
Throughout the month, the Fair Housing Division will host its Fair Housing Roadshow, a weekly initiative aimed at educating Dallas residents about their housing rights, informing them of available services, and offering support for reporting housing discrimination. These community-based gatherings will be held every Tuesday in different City Council districts and are open to the public.
