New Fort Worth city manager sees top staffing changes in first 2 months

Delivering on a promise made during his first days on the job, Fort Worth City Manager Jay Chapa has overseen several staffing changes within his office over the first two months of his tenure.

Before his swearing-in ceremony at the end of January, Chapa told reporters that his first 100 days would be spent working to understand his new staff’s responsibilities and goals. He promised that, if needed, he would “maybe move some chess pieces around to make sure that people are in the best place, so that we’re successful.”

As of early April, the city manager’s office has experienced several staff promotions and departures, with some retirements planned before Chapa came on board. The office will oversee the hiring process for several now vacant top staff positions in the coming months…
