Shooting suspect who walked out of DPD interview room was later found at the crime scene, police say

DALLAS — A shooting suspect reportedly walked out of a Dallas Police Department interview room and went missing for several hours overnight, Dallas police sources told WFAA on Monday morning. The suspect was later found at the scene of the shooting, officials confirmed.

The suspect was in an interview room at Dallas police headquarters when three officers allegedly left the suspect in the room unattended with the door unlocked, according to police sources. Dallas police later confirmed the suspect escaped police custody and was seen running from the building, according to a press release from the department.
