After a hot Sunday, a cold front will slide into Texas by Monday. Here’s when temps drop.

Sunday is going to be a very hot day across the entire Lone Star State . The majority of Texas will see temperatures top out between 10 and 20 degrees above average for mid-April, including some spots in the western side of the state that could reach the triple digits.

Thankfully, most spots will cool down Monday and Tuesday as a cold front moves slowly through the state. Here’s a look at exactly how hot Sunday will be and how much temperatures will drop when the cold front arrives early this week.

Sunday’s forecast

If you have any outdoor errands or lawn care to do on Sunday, the best time to do it will be during the morning. San Antonio low temperatures will start near 60 degrees at 7 a.m., and temps will stay in the 60s until 9:30 or 10 a.m.

After that, temperatures will rise quickly under mostly sunny skies. San Antonio will be in the low 80s by noon, likely hitting the 90-degree mark by 2-3 p.m. High temperatures are expected to hit 92 to 93 degrees, well above the climate average of 80 degrees for April 13.

Most of Texas will be feeling the heat on Sunday. Highs will reach at least 90 degrees all along the Interstate 35 corridor, including across Austin, Waco, and Dallas. As you move west, temps will rise even higher. Cities in West Texas, such as Midland, Abilene, and Childress, will have a chance to touch 100 degrees…
