Severe thunderstorm risk shifts westward to Texas & Oklahoma with elevated tornado risk

STORM PREDICTION CENTER INDICATES SEVERE THUNDERSTORM & TORNADO RISK WEST TEXAS INTO OKLAHOMA TUESDAY 4/22/2025

We have seen quite a bit of severe weather across the Mississippi River Valley this past Easter weekend. Now we are seeing the axis of severe weather shifting westward into West Texas northeast into Oklahoma as per the Storm Prediction Center of the National Weather Service. This also comes with slightly elevated risk for tornadoes. We are also seeing a increase in rainfall over the next 7 days in this area covering the Southern & Central Plains. Several inches of rain is forecast which is not going to be enough to produce widespread flash flooding at least from what we are seeing right now.
