Dallas opens first large-scale concrete skatepark at Bachman Lake

After years of anticipation, Dallas has officially opened the Bachman Lake Skatepark, a 45,600-square-foot facility designed for skateboards, BMX bikes, rollerblades, and scooters. The $3.9 million project, funded through the 2017 bond program, marks the city’s first large-scale concrete inground skatepark, offering a dynamic space for skaters of all skill levels.

The park features a Street Scape Area, Flow Bowl, Snake Run, and Pool Bowl, catering to both beginners and seasoned riders. Designed by Team Pain Skateparks, the facility was built with input from the local skateboarding community to ensure an optimal riding experience.

City officials, including Mayor Eric L. Johnson, celebrated the grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, highlighting the park’s role in expanding recreational opportunities in Dallas.
