Irving Teen Arrested in Stolen Kia Pursuit in Montgomery County; Irving Runaways Recovered

An Irving teenager, residing in an apartment in the 4100 block of Polaris Drive in North Irving, was arrested on June 11, 2025, in Montgomery County after a brief police pursuit involving a stolen Kia Soul. Two runaway juveniles from Irving were also recovered in the incident, which has prompted authorities to warn about the rising trend of Kia thefts.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) was alerted to a stolen gray 2017 Kia Soul, reported stolen from Irving, traveling northbound on I-45. When deputies attempted a traffic stop, the driver, identified as 17-year-old Jamarian Hawkins from our own North Irving community, allegedly sped away. The short pursuit ended near I-45 in Willis, where Hawkins and his two juvenile passengers were detained.

Hawkins was arrested and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Evading Detention in a Vehicle, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. His bond was set at $20,000. The two juvenile passengers were identified as runaways from Irving and were taken to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Facility…
