Dallas Police and U.S. Marshal’s Task Force Arrest Suspect Darius Hinton on Domestic Violence Charges

In a coordinated effort to clamp down on domestic violence, the Dallas Police Department’s Fugitive Unit, together with the U.S. Marshal’s North Texas Fugitive Task Force, has succeeded in apprehending 28-year-old Darius Hinton. The arrest, which took place on Wednesday, was part of a broader action to address crimes that too often occur behind closed doors, as October is recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Chief Daniel Comeaux underscored the swift and decisive action, “Our Domestic Violence detectives work tirelessly to bring justice to the survivors of these terrible crimes, and the partnership between Dallas PD and the U.S. Marshals means we can get more of these violent offenders off the street to face justice.” The suspect Hinton now faces charges including Theft of a Firearm and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Family Violence, both carrying significant weight within the judicial system; he was also arrested regarding outstanding warrants for violation of supervised release, a grim reminder that the past often reaches out to the present in the context of crime and punishment, as per the Dallas Police Department…
