GLADEWATER, Texas — A Gladewater Police Department officer has been arrested for indecency with a child, a third-degree felony, according to the Dallas Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children Division. Officer Kenan Robert Laza was taken into custody at his residence in Longview, Texas.
The arrest took place on Thursday, November 6, 2025, around 5:00 p.m., in coordination with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Following the arrest, Laza’s employment with the Gladewater Police Department was terminated immediately, stated Chief Kyle Ready of the Gladewater Police Department.
“The allegations and evidence presented in this case are deeply disturbing and have shocked this department to its core,” said Chief Ready.
